How Long is an In-Person Consultation?:
- Please fill out and submit the Consultation Request Form (below). Information gathered here provides the bare essential information needed.
- Inspiration Photos: Please gather a few inspiration photos and paste them into the body of your email to me (rather than a link to a Pinterest board). Let me know what you like about each photo (for instance, "I like the shape of this bouquet, but I like the color of this other bouquet"). My email is brenda@brendaabbott.net. (Please put your wedding date and location in the subject line.)
- We try to be as productive as possible using email to gather your inspiration photos or sharing photos of what we're thinking. Sometimes, we hop on a call and iron out details. Thanks to technology, we've designed many custom wedding celebrations without meeting our bride personally until wedding day. If you are more comfortable meeting in person, we are happy to visit with you, your spouse-to-be, and family here in our shop.
- We do limit in-person consultations to you and 2 guests. You may choose to bring your Mom, Dad, and/or your fiancé or a trusted bridesmaid. Please don’t bring children or extra family and friends. Distractions and too many opinions will derail your productive meeting. Do bring the decision maker (whether that is you or someone else).
- Know your chosen venue. Most often, we design to complement both you and your chosen venue. Photos and room layouts are helpful.
- Gather your dream inspiration pieces to share with us. Putting them into an email to me before our meeting is very helpful. If you’ve chosen your gown or your bridesmaids' gowns, photos and color swatches are helpful.
- Bring your budget guidelines. You may think you have no idea what your floral budget should be, but budgets can range dramatically, so we need to work within your comfort level to create the best event possible.

How Long is an In-Person Consultation?:
- If you need personal flowers (without all the other things that go along with wedding decor), we can usually get that done over the phone and with emailed photos, or if you prefer to meet in person, plan for about 15 minutes. If you need assistance with choosing full wedding decor from personal flowers and bouquets to centerpieces and altar flowers, plan for about 30 minutes to an hour for an initial consultation. We can usually give you a rough cost projection based on the basic elements we are to provide. If you're happy with that, we can extend the consultation and proceed further. At that point, we will go over our save the date agreement with you.
- With the agreement and deposit in place, we can get started right there with choosing specific elements and designing your wedding! If you're just not ready to commit, that's okay too! You are free to take the save the date agreement with you and think about it. We'll hold onto the notes we take and when you're ready to move forward, just let us know within 30 days.
- If you're ready and would like us to reserve your date on our calendar, we will collect a $500 save the date retainer, along with the signed agreement. Once we have the agreement and retainer in place, then we will take the information gathered at our consultation and prepare it into a full plan and provide you with itemized details. We will work with you by phone and email making adjustments as needed.
- 30 days before your wedding day, we'll make final adjustments and collect the final balance.
